St. Andrew’s Society Educational Scholarships
In the furtherance of the Society’s objective to assist and promote the public and private education of the people of our community in Scottish Arts and Culture, the Society shall, at the discretion of the Council, offer scholarships to its members to help cover partial tuition costs to attend an outside school of instruction. (such as WinterStorm in Kansas City, Ohio Scottish Arts School in Ohio, Midwest Scottish Weekend, Gaelic Language classes, etc.) These funds are paid to the attendee after confirmed payment of the educational event(s).
Members interested in a scholarship should request to be considered for one via the online form found below.
Scholarships are limited only to current, active Members of the Society.
A list of Scholarship applicants and those accepted will be kept by the Scholarship coordinator
Partial scholarships may be awarded.
Scholarships are announced via email to all Members.
Specific criteria to be considered:
Be a Member of the Society for at least one year prior to applying;
Indicate to the Council the Member’s interest in being considered via online form found on our website (madisonscotsin.org)
Be able to provide appropriate documentation of educational experience being considered for tuition (when requested)
Write 500 words identifying how the educational experience will allow members to perpetuate Scottish Culture in the Madison Area or educate the people of the Madison area about Scottish Arts.
Have not received a Society scholarship in the past year
The number of scholarships awarded will not exceed 3 scholarships for the fiscal year (April 1-March 31). The amount given to each scholarship is up to the discretion of the Council based on the cost of the educational event and available funds.
The selection committee consists of the entire Council.
The scholarships are sent directly to the participant after confirmation of payment for the event that is equal or greater than the scholarship amount being requested.
